Valerie Mosley serves as a strategic advisor to Mission Advancement Corp. Ms. Mosley has over 30 years of experience as an institutional investor, board member, and entrepreneur. 

She was Partner, Senior Vice President, and Portfolio Manager at Wellington Management Company, a ~$1 trillion global money management firm. During her 20-year tenure, she also Chaired Wellington’s Industry Strategy Group. Ms. Mosley currently serves as a board member of three publicly traded companies, DraftKings (NASDAQ: DKNG; ESG Chair), Groupon (NASDAQ: GRPN), and Dynex Capital (NYSE: DX). She also serves on the private-company boards of the NY State Common Retirement ~$200 Billion Fund’s Investment Advisory Committee, Eaton Vance’s family of mutual funds which provides oversight of 144 mutual funds, Envestnet (NYSE: EVN), Progress Investment Management Company (a privately held Fund of Fund.) 

She also serves on the UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust’s Investment Risk Advisory Committee and since 2012, Ms. Mosley has served as the Chairperson and CEO of Valmo Ventures, an impact investment firm that advises and invests in opportunities that add value both to investors and society. Most recently, Ms. Mosley is the founder and CEO of Upward Wealth, a wealth-tech platform that helps hard-working Americans grow their net worth.

Ms. Mosley was named UK’s Powerlist International Person of the Year 2017, one of the 50 Most Powerful Black Women in Business and one of the 75 Most Powerful African Americans on Wall Street. 

Ms. Mosley holds a B.A. in History from Duke and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
